The Visitor Adoption KPIs report helps you measure the time, effort and resources it takes to migrate to Office 365 and clearly shows how this affects the business. With this report you can learn how much money you are losing from inactive user licenses, creating and storing unused content and even help translate time wasted and bad user experiences into monetary value; with actions such as failed searches or experiencing slow pages.

Money Lost

This chart is comprised of the following metrics:

  • Money Lost on Inactive User Licenses equals to the number of inactive users multiplied by user license cost per month (configurable).

  • Money Lost on Failed Searches equals to the time wasted on failed searches (in hours) multiplied by the average salary per hour (configurable).

  • Money Lost on Slow Pages equals to the time wasted on slow pages (in hours) multiplied by the average salary per hour (configurable).
  • Money Lost on Creating Unused Media Assets equals to the number of unused media files multiplied by the media content production cost per minute (configurable) and by the average video length in minutes. Unused media files are files stored in SharePoint Assets libraries that were not viewed at all in the selected date range. 
  • Money Lost on Storing Unused Content equals to the total size (in MB) of unused content items multiplied by the storage cost per MB per month (configurable). Unused content items are items that were not viewed at all in the selected date range. 

Time Wasted

This chart is comprised of the following metrics:

  • Time Wasted on Failed Searches equals to the number of failed searches multiplied by 64 seconds per search. A failed search is a search where a user did not click on any search result, including searches with no results.
  • Time Wasted on Creating Unused Content equals to the number of unused content items multiplied by content creation time in minutes (configurable). Unused content items are items that were not viewed at all in the selected date range. 
  • Time Wasted on Slow Pages equals to the number of slow pages multiplied by the average page load time (configurable) subtracted from the slow page load time. A slow page is a page that takes longer to load than the average page load time.

Values

The following values are configurable in the Money Lost and Time Wasted visuals:

Average Salary per Hour ($)

Average hourly salary for information technology roles. The default value is  32.2$. 

User License Cost per Month ($)

Base price per user per month for Office 365. The default value is 20$.

Storage Cost per GB per Month ($)

Price for storing 1GB of data per month in Office 365. The default value is 0.2$.

Media Content Production Cost per Minute ($)

Average rate for producing 1 minute of digital media assets. The default value is 1200$.

Content Creation Time in Minutes

Average time in minutes for creating a content item such as a document, news article, website page etc. The default value is 120 minutes.

Page Load Time in Seconds

 Average time it takes to load and display the entire content of a web page in the browser window. The default value is 10 seconds.

Date

Use the date slider to quickly change the start or end date that you would like review information for. If you'd like to choose a specific date, click either the start or end date and manually select it using the calendar popup.
