A tree item is any content item you have created a user creates in SharePoint. For example a site collection, site, list, list Item, document, page etc. CardioLog Analytics imports information about all content items in SharePoint to the Portal Tree via the Website tree service (regardless if it is active or not, in order to provide reports on unused items as well).
